The Day The Babies Crawled Away

The Day The Babies Crawled Away by Peggy Rathmann is an adorable little story for the younger set. The story follows a young boy who notices a group of curious babies crawl away from their unsuspecting parents. The young hero goes through quite an adventure getting the trouble making babies back safe & sound. The illustrations are lovely, done in silhouette against a colorful sky that changes from afternoon, to evening to night as the book progresses. The story is written in a sweet repetitive rhyme that seems to hold my kids attention every time. Most importantly, this is a book I enjoy reading to the kids! You know there are those books that the kids love but you just dread having to read for the umpteenth time. Well this is not one of them. This book has been well loved by my boys & is about to be introduced to their little sister. Looking at our old copy, complete with teeth marks from one of the boys & a few ripped pages, I decided I needed a new copy. I went to good old Amazon & ordered 2 copies. One for my family & one for my one year old niece as part of her Christmas present.

4 kids, a husband & I work part-time. Sure I have time to blog.

So maybe I'm being a bit ambitious... I do have a lot going on in my life. I feel very lucky to have the husband I have. My boys are a constant source of both joy & chaos. My baby girl is a dream come true but still a baby & therefore a lot of work (on little sleep!) And my job, while I actually enjoy it & feel very fortunate to have found a job that fits into my family's life so well, is still a job I have to leave my family for 3 evenings every week.  (Read: I would totally quit if I won the lottery!) Yes, my life is full. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am hoping this blog can become a snapshot into my life at this point. I have things that I am passionate about that I want to share. In this age of cyberspace, I felt this was a natural step for me. I invite to to join me. Read, comment, share.
